Farm Country /Wine Country

Nov 14, 2022

Another nice thing to do as winter closes in is book a trip to California.  I say that like it's something I've done before.  Actually, no, this is the first time.  I have a friend who is a travel nurse living near San Francisco.  He invited me to come for a visit so naturally I said "You don't have to ask ME twice!"...and here I am.  We are exploring a bit of wine country in the Sonoma region currently and so I've been merrily snapping pictures everywhere we go.  Yesterday I rented a bicycle and had fun exploring the hillsides near the town of Windsor, where we are staying.  I know, it's sounds so posh, and it is, but I'm especially enjoying the farm country feel of the surrounds and our little Airbnb. I've always wanted to live on a farm.  Not a big, agriculture thing, but a smaller, hobby farm where I could have a couple of horses, some goats and maybe a cow or two. I don't know why, but this kind of life really calls to me. Maybe it's waking up to the sun and going out to feed all the little furry cute animals right after you've had your coffee. Maybe it's the quiet, or living someplace where you relish the idea of having a nice garden plot to grow veggies and jar your own jams.  It's probably all of it. There is something about living in a place where you look out your windows to see trees and hills in the distance, instead of the sidewalk, street and houses next door.  We all need our little private spaces to calm the mind, have space to dream and connect with our souls.  At least I know I do.  I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I've enjoyed being down here and catching some rays before heading back up for the long winter.

Peace out for now!
